About

A Málaga transfer company that drives east, inland and far

Airport Transfers Andalucía is a private transfer company based in Málaga. We own our vehicles and we employ our drivers, and we chose to specialise in the journeys most airport transfer firms treat as an afterthought: the coast east of the city, Granada and the Sierra Nevada, the mountain towns behind Málaga, and the long roads to Seville, Córdoba, Jaén and Almería.

Home›About

That choice shapes everything on this site. Our fixed prices are calculated for those roads, our drivers know where the car can and cannot go in Granada, Seville and Córdoba, and our booking form asks the questions that matter on a long journey, not just the flight number.

Own cars, own drivers, no middleman

When you book with us you are booking the company that will actually drive you. We do not sell your journey on to a subcontractor, a taxi rank or a marketplace, and there is no dispatcher between you and the person holding the sign in arrivals. The driver who confirms your transfer is the one who waits for you, and he has your name, your flight number and your destination address in his hand before you land.

It matters most when something goes wrong. If your flight is two hours late, we know because we are watching it, and the same driver adjusts. If your hotel is behind a bollard in the Judería of Córdoba, the driver has done it before. If the road to Sierra Nevada needs chains one January morning, the person deciding what to do is the person driving, not a call centre.

What a normal day looks like

An early car to Nerja for a family off the first flight from Manchester, back to Málaga by nine. A couple to Granada at mid-morning, dropped at the Alhambra Palace with their timed tickets still an hour away. A minivan waiting outside the cruise terminal at half past eight for a group doing Ronda for the day and back before the ship sails. A single passenger to Seville in the afternoon, two hours on the A-92 with one stop for coffee. That is the shape of our week, and it is why the long roads feel routine to us.

The area we serve

From Málaga Airport, the María Zambrano train station and the cruise port we drive east along the coast to Rincón de la Victoria, Torre del Mar, Torrox, Nerja, Frigiliana and Cómpeta, and on to the Costa Tropical of Granada: La Herradura, Almuñécar, Salobreña and Motril. Inland we cover Antequera, the Caminito del Rey and Ronda. Further afield we serve Granada, Sierra Nevada, the Alpujarra and Guadix, and the long-distance destinations of Seville, Córdoba, Jaén, Úbeda and Baeza, Almería, Roquetas de Mar and Mojácar.

We deliberately do not cover the coast west of Málaga. It is well served by other companies, and concentrating on the east and the interior lets us know those roads, hotels and towns properly: which exit is quicker at eight in the morning, which hotel needs the plate registered, where the car stops in a village with no room to turn.

How the fixed price works

Every route on this site has a price per vehicle, not per person, and it includes luggage, the waiting time described on the route page and VAT. It is the same at three in the morning as at three in the afternoon, the same on Christmas Day, and it does not move if your flight is late. The motorways we use are toll-free; the one toll tunnel in our area, the AP-46 at Las Pedrizas, is optional and only paid if you ask for it. Estate cars cost twenty per cent more than the sedan, minivans fifty per cent more, and a return is exactly double.

Who we drive

Families heading for a week in Nerja or Roquetas with pushchairs and child seats, which we fit free. Skiers going up to Pradollano with bags that only fit in an estate or a minivan. Walkers with a timed entry to the Caminito del Rey. Cruise passengers with seven hours ashore and a plan to see the Alhambra. Business travellers who need a receipt with a fixed amount on it. Residents of the Axarquía who would rather not leave the car at the airport for a fortnight.

What they have in common is that they want to be met, driven door to door by someone who knows the way, and charged what they were quoted. They also tend to come back: a family that found the car waiting after a delayed flight books the same driver for the return, and often for next year.

What we ask of you

Give us the flight number and the full address or hotel name, so the driver can prepare the access. For routes over 150 kilometres, book at least 48 hours ahead, because we hold a car and a driver for most of the day. And tell us anything unusual: skis, a wheelchair, a dog, a stop on the way. We would rather plan for it than improvise at the kerb.

What we commit to

Fixed price, keptThe price you see when you book is the price you pay the driver, whatever happens on the road.
On time, informedWe track every flight and every train, and the driver is in arrivals before you are.

Straight answersIf a route needs 48 hours, a road may be closed by snow or a hotel cannot be reached by car, we tell you before you book.

Questions people ask about us

Are you a taxi company or a transfer company?

A private transfer company with our own vehicles and drivers, based in Málaga. Unlike a taxi we work only on pre-booked journeys at a fixed price, with a driver waiting for you at the airport, the station or the port with your name on a sign.

Do you really drive as far as Mojácar or Úbeda?

Yes. Long-distance transfers are our speciality, not an exception. The same driver takes you from the terminal to your door, three hours away if needed, with rest stops on the way and a price fixed before you travel.

Can I book a transfer for someone else?

Yes. Enter the passenger's name and phone number in the form and your own email if you want to receive the confirmation. Companies often book this way for visiting staff, and the driver shows the passenger's name in arrivals.

Where is the company based?

In Málaga, close to the airport, the station and the port, which is why our cars can be at any of the three within minutes. We do not have offices in Granada or Nerja; our drivers simply go there every day.
