Mojácar Pueblo, Mojácar Playa and the Levante coast

Taxi Málaga Airport → Mojácar

Mojácar is the longest transfer on this website: 290 km and close to three hours from Málaga Airport. The A-7 carries you along the whole coast, round Almería and north across the dry country of Níjar and Sorbas, before you leave the motorway near Los Gallardos for the last few kilometres down to the sea. The white village sits on its hill above the 17 km of Mojácar Playa. No toll roads. Please book at least 48 hours in advance.

Drop-off

Mojácar Playa is straightforward: the hotels line the coast road, the Paseo del Mediterráneo, and the driver drops you at the entrance. Mojácar Pueblo is a different matter. Its lanes are steep, stepped and mostly closed to cars, so the driver leaves you at the nearest point allowed, usually the car park at the edge of the old centre or the road below your street, and helps with the cases uphill. Tell us whether you are staying on the beach or in the village.

What awaits you

  • The white village on the hill
  • Seventeen kilometres of Mojácar Playa
  • Beach bars and the Fuente Mora

Three hours to the far corner of Andalucía

Mojácar is the longest transfer we offer: 290 kilometres and about three hours from Málaga Airport, all of it on the A-7 along the coast. The driver passes Nerja, the Costa Tropical, Motril, Adra and Almería, skirts the city on its ring road and continues north-east past the Sierra Cabrera to the Mojácar exit at Los Gallardos, with the last minutes downhill to the sea. There is no toll on any stretch. The fixed price of €359 for a sedan includes luggage, waiting time and VAT, and the same driver stays with you from the terminal to your door.

Pueblo or Playa: two very different addresses

Mojácar Pueblo is the white village stacked on a hill two kilometres inland, with lanes so steep and narrow that cars stop at the edge. The driver takes you to the closest access point, usually near the Plaza Nueva or the lower car parks, and walks the last stretch with your bags. Mojácar Playa is seventeen kilometres of beach hotels and apartments along the Paseo del Mediterráneo, flat and easy, with the car stopping at reception or at the kerb. Tell us which you are staying in; the price is the same, the approach is not.

The Levante coast: Garrucha, Vera and the road to Cabo de Gata

Mojácar is the centre of the Levante almeriense, a quiet coast of fishing towns and long beaches. Garrucha, with its port and its red prawns, is five minutes north; Vera and its naturist beaches ten; Carboneras and the northern edge of the Cabo de Gata park twenty minutes south. If your accommodation is in one of these places rather than in Mojácar itself, give us the address when you book and we confirm the exact price rather than adding kilometres on the day.

Making a long day easy

Three hours in a car is long, so we plan it. Book 48 hours ahead, give us your flight number, and ask for one or two stops: most passengers take a break near Motril and another around Almería. The estate at €431 takes five suitcases or beach gear, and the minivan at €539 carries up to eight people, which for a group works out at far less per head than any other way of reaching Mojácar from Málaga without changing vehicles.

Local tips for your arrival

  • Say Pueblo or Playa when you book; it decides how the driver plans the last two kilometres.
  • Ask for two rest stops; three hours is long, especially with children or after a night flight.
  • For Garrucha, Vera or Carboneras, send the exact address so the confirmed price already includes it.
  • Book 48 hours ahead and add your flight number; the car is held for the whole day.

Back to Málaga from Mojácar

For the return the driver collects you at your hotel on the Playa, at the village access in the Pueblo or at any address on the Levante coast agreed in advance. Mojácar to Málaga Airport is 180 minutes; add two hours in the terminal, two and a half in summer or for flights outside Schengen, so for a six o'clock evening flight the car leaves at about half past twelve. We can also drop you at Málaga station or the cruise port for the same fare.

From the train station or the cruise port

The fixed price to Mojácar is the same from Málaga-María Zambrano train station and from the cruise port. Choose your origin in the form; the driver meets you at the platform exit or outside the cruise terminal.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Mojácar?

The fixed fare to Mojácar is €359 for a sedan carrying up to four people, €431 for the estate with the large boot and €539 for the minivan for five to eight. Bags, waiting time and VAT are included and the motorway carries no toll.

How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Mojácar?

Around 180 minutes for the 290 km, on dual carriageway for almost all of it. Summer Sundays, snow on the mountain roads and city festivals can stretch that; the driver allows for them when he sets your pickup.

Is Mojácar too far for a private transfer from Málaga Airport?

It is our longest route, but a normal day for our drivers. Three hours in a private car, with the luggage in the boot and a pause whenever you ask for one, is easier than changing buses. Almería airport is closer, but if your best flight lands at Málaga, a sedan is €359 fixed and a minivan for up to eight is €539.

Is it really three hours from Málaga Airport to Mojácar?

Yes, about 180 minutes on the A-7 in normal conditions, a little more with two rest stops. The road is dual carriageway the whole way and rarely congested beyond Almería, so the estimate is reliable in any season.

Can the driver stop for lunch on the way to Mojácar?

Yes. Short rest stops are part of the journey and free. A proper lunch stop of an hour, say in Almería or at a beach restaurant on the coast, is arranged when you book and the waiting time is quoted separately.

Do you also collect in Mojácar for the return to Málaga?

Yes. Book a return and the driver comes back for you at the hotel or at the village access at the time you set; the return leg costs the same as the outward one. Give us the departure flight so we time the pickup with margin.

Where exactly will I find the driver at Málaga Airport?

Inside the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, standing with a board that shows your name. Every arriving flight, Terminal 2 ones included, walks out through that same hall, so there is only one place to look.

How much notice do the long routes need?

Two days for anything beyond 150 kilometres: Seville, Córdoba, Jaén, Úbeda, Almería, Roquetas, Mojácar, Sierra Nevada, Lanjarón and Guadix. The car and the driver are set aside for most of a day. Nearer destinations are usually confirmed the same day.
