Taxi Málaga Airport → Hotel Alfonso XIII

Hotel Alfonso XIII is Seville's grand hotel, built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition in Andalusian regional style with a central courtyard and tiled arcades. It stands on Calle San Fernando between the University, in the old Royal Tobacco Factory, and the gardens of Parque de María Luisa, a few minutes on foot from the cathedral.

Drop-off

It is a long run from Málaga, the A-45 and then the A-92 across the countryside to Seville, arriving by the ring road. Calle San Fernando carries the tram and has limited traffic, but the hotel entrance is set back from the street and the car pulls in to the main door with your luggage.

The long road to Seville

Seville is our longest regular run to the west: 205 km and about 130 minutes from Málaga Airport. The A-45 climbs over Las Pedrizas and the A-92 then crosses the countryside past Antequera and Osuna and the wheat fields of the Campiña before joining Seville's ring road. Because the distance is over 150 km, we ask you to book 48 hours ahead. Once in the city the driver comes in from the south-east, along the Parque de María Luisa, and turns onto Calle San Fernando, where the hotel sits between the University and the park.

Trams, restricted streets and the hotel door

Calle San Fernando is a tram line and a mostly pedestrian avenue, so a stranger would not know how to reach the hotel by car. The trick is that the Alfonso XIII has its own entrance drive set back from the street, and vehicles bringing guests can pull in and stop at the main door. From there the cathedral, the Alcázar and the Santa Cruz quarter are all within a short walk, and you will not touch a car until the day you leave. During Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril the police close surrounding streets for the processions and the fair, and the driver may have to approach from a different side; it is worth telling us your dates.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Hotel Alfonso XIII?

The fixed fare to Hotel Alfonso XIII is €279 for a sedan carrying up to four people, €335 for the estate with the large boot and €419 for the minivan for five to eight. Bags, waiting time and VAT are included and the motorway carries no toll.

How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Hotel Alfonso XIII?

Around 130 minutes for the 205 km, on dual carriageway for almost all of it. Summer Sundays, snow on the mountain roads and city festivals can stretch that; the driver allows for them when he sets your pickup.

Can you drop us at Santa Justa station or Seville airport instead of a hotel?

Yes. Santa Justa, San Pablo airport and the bus stations are all valid drop-off points at the same fixed price as the city centre. Tell us the train or flight time when you book and we plan the departure from Málaga with a margin, so a slow stretch on the A-92 does not eat into your connection.

Why do you ask for 48 hours' notice for Seville?

Because it is a route of over 150 km and takes a driver out of Málaga for most of a day. With two days' notice we can schedule the car and driver properly. If you need it sooner, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it.

How long does the transfer take?

Allow about 130 minutes door to door for the 205 km, longer if you arrive during the Feria or a Semana Santa procession. The price is fixed regardless of the time taken: €279 for a sedan, €335 for an estate and €419 for a minivan, each way.

Where exactly will I find the driver at Málaga Airport?

Inside the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, standing with a board that shows your name. Every arriving flight, Terminal 2 ones included, walks out through that same hall, so there is only one place to look.

How much notice do the long routes need?

Two days for anything beyond 150 kilometres: Seville, Córdoba, Jaén, Úbeda, Almería, Roquetas, Mojácar, Sierra Nevada, Lanjarón and Guadix. The car and the driver are set aside for most of a day. Nearer destinations are usually confirmed the same day.
