Taxi Málaga Airport → Hotel Balcón de Europa
Hotel Balcón de Europa stands on the famous viewpoint itself, the promontory at the heart of old Nerja, with the sea on three sides and small coves below. It is a classic seafront hotel in the pedestrian core: cafés, the church and the evening paseo are all outside the door, and the beach is reached from the hotel.
Prices by vehicle
| Vehicle | Total price (VAT included) |
|---|---|
| Sedan 1-4 passengers, 3 suitcases. | €95 |
| Estate 1-4 passengers, 5 suitcases, skis or golf bags. | €114 |
| Minivan 5-8 passengers, 8 suitcases. | €143 |
Single journey, VAT included, on toll-free roads; the AP-46 tunnel at Las Pedrizas is optional and settled separately if you want it. A return is exactly twice this figure. Starting at the train station or the cruise port changes nothing in the price.
Drop-off
The Balcón de Europa is closed to traffic, so the car cannot reach the hotel door. Your driver takes you to the nearest point allowed for vehicles, by Calle Puerta del Mar, and it is then a short, flat walk of a couple of minutes across the square with your cases. The driver helps you unload.
Motorway to Nerja, then on foot for the last stretch
The 70 km from the airport are almost entirely dual carriageway: MA-20, the tunnels, then the A-7 east, about 55 minutes. What makes this hotel different is the end. The Balcón de Europa and the streets around it are pedestrianised and closed with bollards, so no car reaches the hotel. Your driver comes down into the old town and stops at the closest point vehicles are allowed, normally by Calle Puerta del Mar, where he unloads and points you across the square. From there it is a flat couple of minutes to reception, with the sea in front of you the whole time.
Luggage, children and timing your arrival
Because of that final walk, this is a hotel where a wheeled case matters more than usual. If you travel with a pushchair or a lot of bags, tell us and the driver will stop as close as the day's traffic and the local police allow. In the evening, when the promenade fills with people, the walk is slower but more pleasant; early in the morning it is deserted. Nerja's summer feria and the Easter processions close extra streets for a few hours, and on those days the drop-off point moves a little further back.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a taxi from Málaga Airport to Hotel Balcón de Europa?
The fixed fare to Hotel Balcón de Europa is €95 for a sedan carrying up to four people, €114 for the estate with the large boot and €143 for the minivan for five to eight. Bags, waiting time and VAT are included and the motorway carries no toll.
How long is the drive from Málaga Airport to Hotel Balcón de Europa?
Around 55 minutes for the 70 km, on dual carriageway for almost all of it. Summer Sundays, snow on the mountain roads and city festivals can stretch that; the driver allows for them when he sets your pickup.
Does the driver take the motorway all the way, or the coast road through Torrox?
The A-7 all the way to Nerja, which is faster and smoother than the old N-340 hugging the shore. The motorway runs above the towns, so you only glimpse the sea until the descent into Nerja itself. The coast road is prettier but slower, especially crawling through Torrox Costa on a summer evening.
How far is the walk from the car to the hotel?
A couple of minutes on the flat, across the square that opens onto the Balcón. The driver drops you as close as the pedestrian zone allows, by Puerta del Mar, and helps get the bags out. If someone in your party has trouble walking, mention it when you book and we will do our best to get closer.
Can we be collected from the hotel for the return?
Yes. The car cannot enter the pedestrian area, so the driver waits at the same point by Puerta del Mar at the agreed time and walks over to reception to meet you if you prefer. For a morning flight from Málaga, count the 55-minute drive plus the two hours the airlines ask for at the terminal.
Where exactly will I find the driver at Málaga Airport?
Inside the arrivals hall of Terminal 3, standing with a board that shows your name. Every arriving flight, Terminal 2 ones included, walks out through that same hall, so there is only one place to look.
